DACA Program Restored Under Trump Administration

Friday, December 4th, a federal judge called for the restoration of DACA by the Trump administration. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, DACA, is a “Obama-era initiative that protects undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children from deportation” will require Trump officials “to open the program to new applicants for the first time since 2017”. This is a milestone for the immigrant community, as they have been hit hard by many of the Trump administration’s policies. More specifically, “an estimated one million undocumented immigrants could benefit” from this restoration order.
